The Board met for the 42nd time on the 17th of October 2024 in Jabiru. A majority of the Board members were present either in person or via Teams and were assisted by CEO Dr Emma Young, Senior Governance and Leasing Officer Jessica Wright, minute taker Maxine Campbell, translator Nonika Hardy and interpreter Dr Murray Garde.

The Board:

  • approved a two-year sublease to the Northern Territory Government for the construction of the Bininj Resource Centre site which is expected to commence in March 2025;
  • approved the transfer of a residential property from West Arnhem Regional Council to Jabiru Property Services and approved a mechanism to streamline future transfers between housing entities;
  • discussed the future of the library and training centre sites and agreed to a future sublease of these lots, subject to a commercial viability assessment;
  • agreed to vary its standard sublease terms with the Northern territory Government concerning the new health clinic;
  • agreed to pursue Telstra over the incomplete rectifications on its Jabiru housing;
  • approved the West Arnhem Regional Council’s proposal for an off-lead dog park, subject to conditions; and
  • agreed to vary the Outdoor Living Areas requirement in relation to three properties managed by Jabiru Property Services with limited space availability.
